Step 1: mix all your dry ingredients together in a bowl and rub in to
your roast. Melt 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or tallow, or butter) in a
hot, hot pan and brown your roast on all sides..


Step 2:   Once your roast is browned, place it over your sliced onions
in a crock pot.

Step 3: Pour 1 cup of water in the bottom, cover, and cook on low
6-8 hours.

tep 4: DONE
After cooking, slice your roast and serve with onions over sweet
potatoes or rice or whatever you fancy. Don't underestimate this
roast because of it's simplicity. The total time spent mixing and
browning before placing in the crock pot for me was 5 minutes. This
roast packs a punch of flavor that will surprise you. It's just so good
with so little work!  
Smokey Chuck Roast

Chuck Roast
2 tablespoons coffee grounds
½ teaspoon ground chipotle
1 teaspoon unsweetened
cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
½ tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
coconut oil
2 onions (not pictured)
Uncooked chuck rubbed with
smokey seasonings! Now it's ready
to be browned in the coconut oil.
Here is the browned roast just put on the onions in the crock
pot.   Ready for 6-8 hours on low.
